What employers should do
- Revise wage rates in payroll from the October 2026 wage period.
- Pay arrears for October 2026 (and any later month already processed at the old rate), as the notification was issued on 04-11-2026 with retrospective effect from 01-10-2026.
- Check overtime, PF/ESI wages and contractor bills, which are linked to the revised rates.
- Display the revised rates on the notice board and update wage registers.
- Principal employers should ensure that contractors pay the revised rates to contract labour.
